Waukegan Beach

Waukegan is easily accessible by car, train, plane, bicycle or boat. Our 400 acre lakefront, with a mile long beach and 1,000 slip marina offer opportunities for the recreational fisher, competitive boat racer, beginning kiteboarder and everyone in between. A great location for live music, the Stiner Pavilion band shell is home to the Waukegan Band on Tuesday nights and the Summer Saturday concert series. Stop for ice cream at Dockside, a Waukegan favorite, or bring your own picnic to watch sail boat races. You?re also just a short walk or bike ride from downtown Waukegan?s growing arts district and dozen restaurants!

The Waukegan Municipal Beach, 201 Sea Horse Drive, features 1 mile of sand along with some of the only remaining natural dunes in the area. Recreational activities include swimming, sunbathing, picnicing and sand volleyball. There are no lifeguards on duty at this facility and swimming should be done so at your own risk.

Please call the City of Waukegan's Office of Public Relations at (847) 599-2525 for more information.
